Ginkgo

About

A promise that outlives us.

In 1945, six ginkgo trees survive the atomic bombing of Hiroshima.

A few years later, Arthur Whitmore brings a young tree descended from one of them to Quebec and quietly cares for it for the next fifty years.

When his grandson Jack inherits the house, the greenhouse, and the notebooks Arthur left behind, he gradually discovers that this tree carries far more than a story of survival.

To understand what Arthur has passed on to him, Jack must learn to read the traces, silences, and promises one generation leaves for the next.

Ginkgo is a story of memory, belonging, and inheritance—of what separates surviving from truly living, and of the quiet gestures that connect people across generations and through time.
